How powerful is the Propel S1?

Simply said; in most situations our 10 kW motor is comparible with a 25 hp outboard motor.

Electric motors can be quite powerful. In fact most of the ferries in our hometown Amsterdam are electric. You also have smaller ones, they are often used on kayaks, or by fishers.

When Propel was found we made a deliberate decision; focus on a relatively safe voltage and use in-house technology. Hence we chose to run our Axial Flux motors at 48V. We use software profiles to create variants of the same motor.

When we specify performance, we typically talk about kilowatts or thrust and not about horsepower. In all fairness it is best to forget about horsepower. Our electric motors generate much more torque than a comparible conventional internal combustion motor and maximum torque is available from 0 RPM.
